Tracker Checklist for iOS and Android
GPS requires proper phone settings to prevent disruption of location & mileage tracking. Timeero takes the guesswork out of trying to determine if a mobile phone is configured properly.
Use the Tracker Checklist to confirm proper phone settings for GPS & mileage tracking.
Here's how to access the checklist on iOS:
1. Log into the app
2. Tap on Settings (gear icon, top left)
3. Tap on Tracker Checklist
4. Tap on Fix to correct the setting
5. When Done is displayed next to all items in the list, you're ready to start tracking
*Clock in and out buttons on the app will now say Start and Stop.
Here's how to access the checklist on Android:
1. Log into the app
2. Tap on Settings (3 white lines, top left)
3. Tap on Settings
4. Tap on Tracker Checklist
5. Tap on Fix to correct the setting, that doesn't have a check mark
6. When a Check is displayed next to all items in the list, you're ready to start tracking
7.This will be the new format for the Tracker Checklist:
1. GPS
- GPS ensures high accuracy for real-time tracking- Android can use GPS, cell towers, Wi-Fi, IP addresses for positioning
2. Background location
- Set to "Allow all the time" in order to ensure precise location of the device.
3. Location Accuracy
- Precise (~3-10m /10-30 ft) vs Approximate (~100 m / 300 ft) accuracy
4. Background Data
- For users that are using "Data Server", need to turn on "Unrestricted mobile data usage. For the geolocation sync to function in the background
5. Checklist fix prompt
- If a user has checklist items to be fixed prior to clocking in, this dialog will appear
How to Disable Battery Optimization
- Tracking is less likely to be interrupted if this is turned off
- GPS will work reliably in the background
- Geolocation sync will work reliably in the background
