Time Rounding in Timeero

  •  Time rounding  standardizes clock-in and clock-out times to fixed intervals, helping reduce small time differences and keep hours consistent

Time Rounding feature in Timeero gives you the option of rounding time in your preferred increments.

When an Admin is rounding clock in and clock out times it can be in increments of 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30.

Please check your state labor laws and the US Department of Labors website to ensure proper compliance.

How to change time rounding on Timeero

  1. Go to Company Settings > Time Rounding.
  2. Adjust time rounding preferences.
  3. Save changes.

You can turn time rounding on or off at any time.  When you turn it on, it is not retroactive, so past timesheets will not be affected.  Only timesheets created after time rounding has been turned on will be affected.

The actual clock in time will be recorded on the "bread crumb" when you click on the timesheet map.

Examples:
Rounding Up: If we clocked out at 5:36pm and set rounding preferences to:
5 minutes would round to = 5:40pm
15 minutes would round to = 5:45pm
30 minutes would round to = 6:00pm

Rounding to the Nearest: If we clocked out at 5:36pm and set rounding preferences to:
5 minutes would round to = 5:35pm
15 minutes would round to = 5:30pm
30 minutes would round to = 5:30pm

Rounding Down: If we clocked out at 5:36pm and set rounding preferences to:
5 minutes would round to = 5:35pm
15 minutes would round to = 5:30pm
30 minutes would round to = 5:30pm

FAQs

What is the purpose of time rounding?

Time rounding helps clean up small minute differences in clock-in and clock-out times so your timesheets are easier to read and consistent.

Can I apply time-rounding to certain users in the account?

No. Time rounding applies to all users in your company once it’s turned on in Company Settings, so everyone’s clock-in and clock-out times follow the same rounding rules.
