Time Off Page
The Time Off page includes four separate tabs:
- Pending Requests – for managing incoming requests
- Requests – for viewing previously approved or rejected requests
- Calendar - view all the time off and holiday requests on the calendar
- Accrual and Balances - show the balance for each category that is displayed there
Pending Requests
The Pending Requests tab provides a centralized view for admins and managers to review, approve, reject, or delete time off requests that are awaiting action.
Filters and Search
At the top of the page, filters allow you to narrow down visible requests by:
- Status: Filter by All, Approved, Pending, or Rejected
- Users: Filter by specific employees or view all users
- Category: Filter by time off category
- Date Range: Show requests within a specific time frame
- Search Bar: Search by request name or user name
Requests Table
Each row in the table represents a submitted request and includes the following columns:
- User Name: Employee who submitted the request
- Status: Pending, Approved, or Rejected
- Category: Time off category or holiday name
- Type: Paid or Unpaid (Note: Holidays are always Paid)
- Period: Start and end dates of the request
- Duration (Hours): Total hours requested (duration is shown only in hours)
Actions
Admins and managers can take action directly from the Pending Requests table using the icons on the right:
👁️ - View details of the the request
✅ - Approve the request
❌ - Reject the request
🗑️ - Delete the request
Clicking the View (👁️) icon opens a side panel that displays who submitted the request, which time off category was selected, the date of the request, its current status, the duration, and other relevant details.
Requests (Approved/Rejected History)
The Requests tab shows only requests that have already been approved or rejected. It serves as a historical log.
Requests listed here are read-only. Admins can view details, but cannot take any action. This ensures a clear separation between pending actions and historical records.
Calendar
The Calendar tab provides a visual overview of all upcoming and historical time off entries across your team. The users identify availability, avoid scheduling conflicts, and track key dates such as holidays and birthdays.
Calendar View Options
Users can toggle between two views:
- Week View: Displays time off details by day within a single week.
- Month View: Shows a broader view of leave across the entire month
Navigation arrows allow switching between weeks or months. The Today button quickly returns to the current week/month.
Filters
At the top of the page, filters help refine the calendar data:
Status: Filter entries by status (All, Approved, Rejected, Pending)
Users: View specific users or all users
Category: Filter by time off category
Search: Find requests or users using the search bar
User List (Left Column)
The left side of the calendar lists employees with:
- User photo
- User name
Calendar Entries (Main View)
Each time off or holiday appears as a color-coded label within the calendar grid.
Clicking on any time off entry in the calendar opens a detailed view panel showing full request information. This includes:

Category: Displays the name of the Time Off Category or the Holiday.

Request Status: Indicates whether the request was Approved or Rejected.

Requested On: Shows the date the request was submitted.

Period: Specifies the date range for which the user requested time off.

Type: States whether the time off is Paid or Unpaid.

Duration: Shows the total length of the requested time off.

Comment: Displays any comment made by the user when submitting the request.

Remaining Balance: Indicates how many hours or days of time off the user still has available.

Reviewer: Identifies the person who reviewed and approved or rejected the request.

Reviewer Comment: Displays any comment left by the reviewer.
This view provides full context before making changes or approvals, and is especially useful for double-checking durations, and remaining balance. From here you will also be able to Approve or Reject the time off request that is in Pending.
Accrual and Balances
The Accrual and Balances tab provides a detailed breakdown of each user’s time off balance per category. It includes both accrued time and any initial values entered. This section is primarily used by admins and managers to track usage, make manual adjustments, and log retroactive requests.
