Multiple Overtime Rules
With a Premium subscription you can create multiple overtime rules and assign them to specific users in your account. This is great for companies that have employees in different states, where different compliance rules are in place.
- Click the Add New Overtime Rule button in the upper right corner of the Payroll & Overtime menu.
- Give your new rule a name, then set up Pay Rates for Daily and Daily Double overtime.
- Turn on the options for weekly, daily, and daily double overtime then fill in the thresholds.
- If you're in California, or have employees in California, you can use the pre-made option for California Overtime Rules.
- Save your settings.
- To assign employees to the new overtime rule, click the blue pencil icon to the right of the overtime rule.
- Click the Assign Employees button in the upper right and then check the box next to each employee that you want the rule to apply to. Once everyone is selected, click Save.
Timeero automatically creates a default overtime rule that your new employees are assigned to when you create them. If you would like to change this, find the drop down menu in the upper right corner of the Payroll & Overtime menu that says Company Default and change it to the rule you would prefer.
