How to Edit Groups In Messaging

  • Add and remove users from group chats through the web portal or mobile app.

  • Leave a group chat that you are in. 

  • Change the name of a chat conversation. 

*In order to make changes to groups in messaging, you will need permission to Manage Groups. The can be configured in the Messaging Settings on the Web Portal.

How Do I Add and Remove Users From a Group on the Web Portal?

  1. Select the group from the list of chats on the left hand side. 

  2. Click on the chat circle at the top of the page. 
  3. A side bar will appear on the right hand side.

To Add Users:

  1. Click Add members. 
  2. Select the Check box next to the users you wish to add. 
  3. Finalize by clicking Add Members.

To Remove Users: 

  1. Hover over the name of the user you wish to remove. 

  2. Click on the icon that appears to remove the user from the group. 
  3. You will see a success notification at the top of your screen. 

 

How Do I Add and Remove Users From a Group on the Mobile App?

  1. Click on the Group chat you wish to edit. 

  2. Select the group circle at the top of your screen. 

To Add Users: 

  1. Tap the plus icon at the top of the page.

  2. Select the checkbox next to any users you wish to add. 

  3. Tap on Add at the bottom. 

To Remove Users:

  1. Select the user you want to remove. 

  2. Select Exclude from group. 

How Do I Leave a Group on the Web Portal?

  1. Select the group from the list of chats on the left hand side.

  2. Click on the chat circle at the top of the page. 

  3. A side bar will appear on the right hand side.
  4. Select Leave chat. 
  5. Select Leave to confirm. 

How Do I Leave a Group on the Mobile App?

  1. Click on the Group chat you wish to leave. 

  2. Select the group circle at the top of your screen. 
  3. Select your name.
  4. Select Exclude from group. 


How Do I Change the Chat Name on the Web Portal?

  1. Hover over the chat you want to rename.

  2. Click on the three dots.

  3. Select Update Chat Name.

  4. Enter the new name. 

  5. Click Save Changes. 

How Do I Change the Chat Name on the Mobile App?

  1. Select the chat you want to change the name of.

  2. Click on the chat name at the top of the page.

  3. Click on the name next to NAME and replace it with the new name. 

  4. Select the check mark next to the name to save the change.
