Employee Onboarding for iPhone and Android

A complete how-to guide on setting up your Timeero app for accurate time and mileage tracking.

To begin setting up your employee account, make sure that your admin has created your user profile and sent you an invitation to set up a password to login. If you are having trouble logging in, your admin can create a password for you following the instructions in this article here.

Download the Timeero App

After you have a login set up, you're ready to download the app!

  1. Open the App Store if you're on iPhone or the Play Store if you're on Android.
  2. Search for "Timeero" and make sure it looks like this so you know you're installing the right app:

  3. Install the app by clicking the "Install" button.
  4. Open the app and log in using the email address and password you created earlier.

Optimize your Tracker Checklist

  1. Open the Settings by clicking the gear icon in the upper left of the app.
  2. Find the Tracker Checklist on the menu and open it.
  3. Tap on Fix to correct any settings that do not say Done or have a checkmark next to them.
  4. The Tracker Checklist should now say 100%, which means every mile will be accounted for while you are clocked in. For a complete guide on the Tracker Checklist, please visit this article here.

You may receive notifications that Timeero has used your location when you are not clocked in. This is because GPS access is turned on for Timeero. Please remember that your location is only captured and sent to our servers when you are clocked in. Neither Timeero nor your employer have access to your location when you are off the clock.

Clocking In and Out

  1. Open the app and log in if you need to. You should only need to log back in if you have reinstalled the app or manually logged out, otherwise it will remember you.
  2. Click the "Clock In" button.
    • If your admin has jobs enabled you will be asked to select one from the list. You may also be asked to select a task.
  3. Confirm your location and you're done! You should see a timer at the top of the screen start to count your working time.
  4. At the end of your day, open the app back up, tap "Clock Out" and confirm your location again.

While clocked in, make sure that you do not force close the app (by swiping up and out of it) if you are tracking your location and mileage. While it will not affect your time, it may affect the accuracy of your GPS tracking, and your calculated mileage.

Taking Breaks

If your admin has enabled breaks, then once you're clocked in you'll see another button appear that says "Start Break". To begin a break, click that button and then select what type of break you are taking - these will be set up by your admin, so make sure to ask them if you have any questions about which one to pick.

While you are on break, tracking will pause. When you're done with your break, click the "End Break" button and tracking will resume and you can continue your work day!

Adding Photos, Notes and Signatures to Timesheets

While clocked in you have the ability to attach photos, notes, and even signatures (if your admin has enabled them) to your timesheets. Click "Enter Notes" above the clock out/start break buttons to add anything you need your admin to see, or click "Add Photo" to either take a photo directly through the app or to attach a photo already on your phone.

Anything you add to your timesheet will be visible to the admin on your account as soon as your app syncs with the web portal. Use these features to add additional details about a job, photos for proof of work, or even signature sign-offs from clients!
